Gunpla is a combination of the phrase “Gundam (anime series) + plastic model”, and most kits being made of plastic.
Gunpla kits are buildable and movable plastic models inspired by the animated series, Gundam, that debuted in Japan in 1979.

Kits come as a collection of plastic parts, decals, and sometimes other decorative accessories which the purchaser assembles by hand into the finished model.
Gunpla pieces come in several trays. You have to clip each piece out with bare hands or a small pair of nippers.
As you put your model together, the pieces will snap together (rarely you use glue).

Gunpla kits are mainly categorized into 6 grades:
Perfect Grade (PG, scale:1/60, best detail, articulation and part quantity.)
Master Grade (MG, scale:1/100, great detail and articulation)
High Grade (HG, scale:1/144, middle-range)
Real Grade (RG, scale:1/144, high part counts, advanced articulation)
No Grade (NG, scale:1/100, same quality as HG)
Super Deformed (SD,easy to construct)
